Privacy Notice

1. Who we are

We are the Maniacs Engine++ team, a pre-launch project building an AI-native game engine. We do not yet have a registered legal entity; the project is currently operated by its founding team.

For any privacy questions, deletion requests, or data complaints, write to us at legal@maniacsengine.com. We respond within 30 days.

2. What this notice covers

This notice covers personal data you provide through:

• The early-access waitlist signup form on maniacsengine.com
• Email correspondence sent to legal@maniacsengine.com or any other Maniacs Engine++ address

It does not cover the Maniacs Engine++ engine itself, which has not yet been released. When the product launches, we will publish separate documentation for it.

3. What data we collect

When you join the waitlist, we ask for:

• Your name
• Your email address
• The name of the project you are building
• A short description of what is currently blocking you

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics. The website may store a small theme preference (light/dark mode) in your browser's local storage; this never leaves your device.

Our hosting provider, Vercel, collects standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and performance, in line with their own privacy policy.

4. Why we use it (legal basis)

Under GDPR Article 6(1)(a), we process your waitlist data based on your explicit consent, given when you submit the form. Under GDPR Article 6(1)(f), we may also rely on legitimate interest to operate the waitlist, send a one-time welcome email, and notify you when alpha access opens.

Under KVKK Article 5(1), we process your data with your explicit consent (açık rıza).

We use your data only to:

• Acknowledge your application with a single welcome email
• Review and shortlist applicants for early access
• Notify you when a place opens for you in the alpha
• Reply to messages you send us

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties beyond the subprocessors listed below.

5. Who processes your data on our behalf

We use a small number of trusted services to operate. Each receives only the data needed for its function and is bound by its own privacy commitments:

• Google (Google Sheets) — stores waitlist applications. See policies.google.com/privacy
• Resend — sends transactional email such as the welcome email. See resend.com/legal/privacy-policy
• Vercel — hosts the website and processes server logs. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

These providers operate in the United States and other countries, which means your data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA and Türkiye. Where required by GDPR, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) maintained by the providers. Where required by KVKK, your explicit consent to such transfers is obtained when you submit the form.

6. How long we keep it

We retain your waitlist data until the earlier of:

• Eighteen (18) months after your signup, or
• Your request to delete it (we comply within 30 days)

Once we incorporate and the product is generally available, retention will be governed by the new Privacy Policy that replaces this notice.

7. Your rights under GDPR and KVKK

You have the right to:

• Access — receive a copy of the data we hold about you
• Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data (the right to be forgotten)
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing

Under KVKK Article 11, you additionally have the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed, request information about that processing, and object to outcomes produced solely by automated systems. We do not use automated decision-making at this stage.

To exercise any of these rights, email legal@maniacsengine.com. We respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for EU/EEA residents, your local data protection authority; for Türkiye residents, the Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu).

8. Security

We protect data in transit with TLS encryption. Access to the waitlist storage is restricted to members of the Maniacs Engine++ team. As a pre-launch project, we do not yet hold formal security certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001; we will pursue them as the company matures.

9. Children

The Maniacs Engine++ website and waitlist are not intended for individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact legal@maniacsengine.com so we can delete it.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. When we incorporate as a company, this notice will be replaced by a full Privacy Policy issued by the legal entity. Material changes will be communicated by email to waitlist members.
